This term I am studying at Central Saint Martins in London, UK.  So far it has been an amazing experience.  The mindset of both the students and faculty is extremely different then that of Parsons.  Is it better? I’m still deciding…

Here it is…  Overall I’m happy with it.  Time to move on and start something new.

I’m adding a progress photo of my half colored illustration.  I like where it’s going, but there’s still plenty of time to fuck it up…

Yet another drawing from Vasi’s class.  I feel that I’ve made some significant advances this year in terms of my personal style and technical abilities, though I’m definitely still learning.  Now I actually enjoy working on my drawings, devoting several hours of precious weekend time to them.

Often when I draw, there is lots of reworking of the figure’s proportions. The close up photo shows how I had to lower my girl’s entire face so she wouldn’t look like a pinhead, when we all know she’s an aerospace engineer.

BAM! has to be one of my favorite venues in Brooklyn.  I was there a few weeks ago to see Fiest perform.  She was amazing, duh.

Inspired by Juicy Couture’s 2012 ad campaign, I wanted to capture the attitude and bad-ass-ness of their punky prepster girl (who kinda looks like an Olsen twin…) What I love about this drawing is how the plaid fabric has been fully rendered while maintaining an illustrative quality.
